Sourced from one of the world’s largest tea-growing regions, Assam tea is indigenous to the tea estates in Northeastern India. These leaves are commonly used in various blends and have been famed for their distinct malty black leaves and strong brews. Being from the Camellia sinensis plant, the flavours can vary from brisk, musky & earthy to sweet and spicy.
How to prepare
Select your brewing vessel and preheat with hot water.
Obtain quality water and fill your kettle, setting it to 192°F.
Weigh ½ tsp (1.9g) per 4 fl oz of Assam TRES #8 Hong Cha, ensuring you add the leaves first before following with water.
Upon pouring, set your timer to ensure you steep 2 mins.
After the timing is finished, separate the infused leaf from the tea liquor by removing the infuser or transferring the tea to a second pot through a strainer.
Your tea should have a strong aroma reflecting it’s flavour.
Serve optionally with tray and appropriate teaware.
